Poet's Journal Today was my first day as part of the blogging team at Shiny Media! I applied for a vacancy with the fabulous Shoewawa a few weeks ago, and although that role didn't come through (a missing blogger returned), I was offered a slightly different opportunity covering celebrity fashion for Shoewawa, The Bag Lady AND Catwalk Queen!!I am tremendously excited about this opportunity - although I must admit that I'm a little nervous. The Shiny team is stellar, very talented, and I can only hope that I'll measure up! I don't know how well known the sites are back in Oz, but they're very well-respected in the UK and USA, and this may open some doors for me that I hadn't ever anticipated :) (being paid to talk about fashion is a marvellous bonus, too!!) So far I've got one post up (being my first day and all), which you can view here. Over the next few weeks, I'll be working on a few things - the most enjoyable being a series of feature posts focussing on outfits for The Party Season! :):):) FRAGGLE ROCK THE MOVIE! Oh man, too cool for school :D http://www.hollywoodrag.com/index.p *dancedancedance* (Shuddup, Fraggle Rock(s)!) I - in all my boredom - have started blogging about Stuff. Mainly Stuff in the UK, but Stuff nonetheless. If thou art availed of spare time - or like shoes - feel free to mosey on down to Shoes, Glorious Shoes :) I'm off to the land of shamrocks, guinness, leprechauns and green in a few hours :):):) I'm ridiculously excited! So much so, that I don't even mind that I am going to have had no sleep :D We're travelling by Giant Catamaran (too cool), then driving around for seven days, before heading home on the 20th :):):) We're being all adventurous and not booking accommodation.. but there are enough B&Bs in UK and Ireland to sink a ship, so I'm not worried :) We're even visiting the wee town that my great-great grandmother emigrated from back in the 1800s! And visiting graveyards and castles! I'm sure I'll regale you all with tales when I get home :):) In the meantime, I have started a new blog, in an effort to force myself to write every day. Writing about *something* is always much easier than writing about nothing.. or "whatever", and I have chosen shoes! If you're interested, pop on over to http://shoesgloriousshoes.blogspot.com/ http://www.filecabi.net/video/bushsunda I can't believe Steve Irwin's dead. And his family's so young :( I am stunned and devastated - he was one of my favourite Australians. Steve, I hope there are plenty of crocs for you in Heaven, mate. You'll be sorely missed. This is a meme that tends to circulate every so often, but I thought I'd subject you to my latest effort anyway. If only because I spent four hours working on the bloody thing :) Hope you're all well! He'll probably post additional pics to his photoblog, but he'll put the best of the best on his LJ - just for you! His journal is here, if you'd like to friend him: Also - I have a small favour to ask. As I'm not a paid user, I can't do this, but would any of you paid users out there be able to add Dave's photoblog account (http://www.photoblog.com/rss/greenplas If someone could do that for me (it'll take less than a minute!), I'll owe you a big ol' hug when I get home :) If you're able, can you comment this post when it's done? Thanks heaps in advance! :)))) Dave has joined the world of crazy bloggers, only he can't be arsed telling you about himself.. instead, he's USING PICTURES :D:D:D We've been trekking to a few castles lately, as well as a spell in Edinburgh for the Comedy Festival, and he's already putting photos up :) If any of you have looked at his photobucket album before and were pleased with what you saw (or you didn't, but you like castles and want to see some), the address is: http://www.photoblog.com/user/greenplas Salut! :D Thanks to Cath, I've discovered Corinne Grant's debuting at the Ed Fringe this year!! w000000t :D Time to buy some tix, methinks! I am going to LOVE this 'weekend overdose' of Aussie Comics :D:D:D:D:D It's gonna rock! I think I need to hunt down an Aussie flag to wear for the weekend instead of a jacket :D:D:D:D *happiness* :D:D:D:D Now if only Hughsie was performing, I'd have a Glasshouse Trifecta! But, alas, he is not. Still, Bill Bailey and Ross Noble TOTALLY make up for that :DDDDDDDDDDDDDD :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD Plus, two weekends in Edinburgh in a month, and a high probability of a trip to Ireland too! MmmAugust. You have become my favourite :D Current mood: elated. |
